Bio
The Mandelbear (Steve Savitzky) has been kicking around the net for a long time now. He started out on alt.callahans as "the Middle-Sized Bear" (a Cordwainer Smith reference), and ended up as the Mandelbear after describing himself as an infinitely-fuzzy, vaguely ursine fractal (visible here for example).

Lately he is becoming better known as ``Father of Chaos'' The Wolfie is behind the creation of mdlbear_albums, which chronicles the Bear's progress toward finally getting some filksongs published. The end result is Coffee, Computers, and Song.

He is currently performing in two filk groups, Tres Gique, and Tempered Glass. The latter is currently more active, and may actually have a CD out by early 2011.

Note to friends: My "friends" list is basically a reading list. I hardly ever lock my posts; if you're not on my friends list, it's probably because I don't think I have time to read your journal, not because I don't like you.

Note on interests: Regardless of what ignorant morons have put as a "rule of thumb" in a sidebar to the interests list, the word "interest" does not mean "liking" or "approval". It means that I am interested in discussing a topic. For example, my interests list contains the word "censorship", which I thoroughly disapprove of. It also contains "La Marseillaise" in spite of the fact that the chorus could easily be misconstrued by ignorant morons as a death threat against my enemies. I don't necessarily approve of that sentiment; I just like the song. Got it?
